Sunset at the Palms
Hotel Information: Cited by the U.K.'s Green Globe for "environmentally sustainable tourism," Sunset at the Palms Resort attracts guests from around the world, drawn by the unusual combination of tranquil garden and lively beach sections, exceptional gardens, "natural" open-air wood-structure ambience, and cabins-on-stilts style. (Children are welcome but the hotel has no special facilities for them.)
Insider tip: Sunsets at Rick's Café 11.5 km (7.25 mi) south of the resort are a Negril tradition. People jump off 15m (50-ft) cliffs into the Caribbean Sea, and a band plays reggae music for dancing.
The majority of amenities, activities, and gratuities at this Negril, Jamaica, resort are included in the room rate; guests are not charged extra for the majority of amenities and activities (scroll up to the All-Inclusive Details section for more information).
Sunset at the Palms Resort All Inclusive offers 65 guestrooms in 33 wood cabins on stilts. Balconies with weathered-wood railings feature Balinese daybeds and teak dining sets and provide views of flowering gardens, bamboo groves, fruit trees, and royal palms. Wood-paddle ceiling fans under peaked, bleached-wood ceilings supplement air conditioners. Large wooden-louvered windows permit air circulation and offer views of the exceptionally diverse gardens.
Balinese decor includes dark-wood furniture, desks with upholstered chairs, canvas drapes, pale-green fiber bedside mats on dark-wood floors, and tapestry throw pillows/bed throws on cream-colored bedspreads. Slate-tile bathrooms include spacious stall showers (no tubs). Slate tiles also line showers, which feature vertical shower jets as well as showerheads and slate benches with handheld showerheads. Wood-ladder-style towel racks and basin sinks with chrome faucets complete the contemporary look. Televisions offer U.S./European cable channels.
All guestrooms are nonsmoking.
